Tick Away

The Tick Away product instantly kills the tick by freezing it, making it easy to remove from the skin in one go. The product consists of an aerosol, a tick card with magnifying glass and instructions for use.

If, after the treatment, the dead tick does not fall off the skin by itself, it can be removed carefully with the enclosed tick removal card with magnifying glass. Killing the tick before removing it reduces the risk of transmitting tick-related diseases.

The Tick Away product can be used from the age of 4 and is ready to use immediately. Use on children from 4 years of age should be under adult supervision.

In case of a tick bite, it is advisable to keep a close eye on the bite spot for at least three months. If a circle develops around the bite site, infection with Lyme disease is a possibility and therefore a doctor should be contacted immediately.

This product is a medical device, the instructions should be read carefully before use.

The plastic applicator cap should not be removed from the aerosol!

Step 1: Position the opening of the applicator 1 cm above the tick (note: do not touch the skin or the tick!).

Step 2: Hold the aerosol as vertically as possible. Press vigorously 4 times to freeze the tick. Note: If the tick still moves after treatment, repeat the treatment again after 10 minutes.

Step 3: The tick dies from the freezing. If the tick does not fall off the skin by itself, it can be carefully removed with the supplied tick removal card.

If the tick removal card is additionally needed:
Check the size of the tick with the magnifying glass on the tick remover card. If it is a small tick (< 2 mm) use the small indentation of the tick removal card. However, most ticks, even the somewhat smaller ones, can be removed effortlessly with the larger notch.

Step 4: Make sure you have a good view of the tick.

Step 5: Place the tick removal card close to the skin with the notch facing the tick. Slide the tick removal card close to the skin towards the tick so that it enters the slit of the tick removal card.

Step 6: Once the tick is trapped in the narrow part of the slit, continue to slide calmly and carefully. The tick comes loose and remains stuck in the tick removal card.

Caution! Disinfect the wound with a little bit of alcohol and note the spot of the tick bite. Disinfect the tick removal card with hot water or alcohol.

  • The product should be stored in a cool and dry place at a maximum of 25 °C.
